ILLNESS 
Should an emergency occur at school, it may fall into the following categories: safety and disaster, tornado procedures, accidents, injuries and illness, General procedures for individuals (Children) are as follows:
- Primary concern for the welfare and safety of the children
- Communicating with the parents/home regarding the emergency
- Consultations with the center's Director/Administration and taking action required.
The teacher will greet your child(ren) each day after he/she arrives at the center and note
whether he/she appears to be sick. Please DO NOT send your child to the classroom if you feel that he/she is too sick to join in on normal day to day activities, and/ or go outside to play. For the safety of the children and staff, please keep your child(ren) at home if he/she has symptoms of a possible communicable disease e.g. fever, body rash, red eyes, colored nasal discharge, constant cough, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.
In the event that your child(ren) is sick / and or becomes sick, e.g. running a temp, or vomiting, your child will be removed to a quiet supervised area away from the other children. We will notify you (Parents) and you must pick your child(ren) up immediately. Please make sure an emergency contact person is always available to pick
up your child(ren).
If your child(ren) have a communicable or childhood disease such as, measles, chicken pox, mumps, strep throat, scarlet fever, head lice, scabies, impetigo, pinkeye, or ringworm, please alert our center, Leaping Learners within 24 hours so that we may alert the other parents to be on the lookout for possible symptoms in their child(ren).
Please Note: Children who have symptoms of possible communicable diseases should be kept home until a doctor has decided that the symptoms do not indicate a communicable disease, the child is no longer contagious, or the symptoms have gone away.
